If you are looking for the hip hop music maker software program for you to start making your own hip hop beats, You need to understand how to talk the terminology.

If you are certainly not acquainted with the hip hop variety lingo or music terms, no worries. Here are some simple meanings along with a few hip hop music facts to assist you a little.

To begin with hip hop music began in the 1970′s in the South Bronx area of New York City. A “hip hop producer” is also known as a “beatmaker” or “beat maker”. Should you be in a recording studio, the record producer operates as the hip hop producer or the individual whom is charged with how the beat sounds once it’s completed and recorded.

As part of your search for a hip hop music maker software to make hip hop beats, you will certainly not understand which application is best if you are not acquainted with some of the primary hip hop beat terms. Let me help you be more informed.

A “blast Beat” is a duplicated, sixteenth note that is typically played in a fast tempo and it is played together with the “kick drum”, “crash” or “hi-hat” cymbal and the “snare and ride”. Mostly used for techno or dance music.

I know it could be a lttle bit perplexing if you don’t have any music theory know-how nevertheless just hang in there. Once you begin developing your beats, most of the computer software will have tutorials that will instruct you throughout the process and explain the essential sounds.

Your hi hat “hat” is a style of cymbal which is a part of the drum. It’s leaving the hi-hat open just a touch while hitting the snare.

The term “ride” symbolizes riding with the song as it lingers the moment it is hit. If you would like add a spectacular flair to your beat, you’d use a single chord, which is used in electronic music and is typically supplied by horns. This is called a “stab”. It presents a rhythmic effect and is added to little parts of a beat.

If you’re able to remember the track “Shake Whatcha Mamma Gave Ya”, from the Poison Clan, it had a beat that brought on much excitment simply because it had an electro sound with up-beat tempos, as well as a sweet “Bounce”. The beat had low-note basses with fast hihats and simple snares. This particular song was a leader of hip hop “bass sound” back in the 90′s.

“beat” is known as a hip hop instrumental. A “Sampler” or “Beat Samples” are types of electronic musical instruments. It resembles a synthesizer, however rather than creating sounds, it uses recordings, or for the reason that term emplies “samples”, of the sounds that were produced, uploaded or recorded by a “beatmaster”.

A “break Beat”, whenever you make hip hop music, would refer to the section of music you could sample and repeat. This is called “drum loops” or “beats” as a rhythmic pattern used in rap and hip hop songs.

When communicating about a hip hop music maker software and the method of making beats, you will run into some techie terms for the software and the tools needed to create them. Let’s talk about some of those at this point so you can be educated when researching as to which beat making program would be best suited for your desires.

A “music sequencer” is a musical app or a specific system, which has a primary function of actively playing back musical notes.

“Drum kit” or trap set, are combinations of cymbals, drums and electronic “drum pads” that can produce sampled or synthesized sounds of a drum.

Today you could possibly come accross a hip hop music maker software containing what is called a “digital audio workstation” also known as (DAW). This format was presented in the 80′s and was also known as a microprocessor-based system that was tape-less.

In short what that means is you can not only play back sampled sounds, you can also edit, play and record any digital audio rails.

As time proceeded the structure changed to a keyboard workstation and has been now refered as a “virtual studio computer system”. It has an audio hardware that is a mixture of multitrack and MIDI software.

I could go on for days however this ought to at least position you in the suitable direction in choosing a hip hop music maker that includes the sophistication required to make broadcast top quality sounding hip hop beats.

How do you like that, you now can speak some hip hop. Now you should not run out and buy Rosetta Stone, it can not teach you the dialect.

Modular synthesizers can be described as synthesizers having separate units or modules which should be connected with patch cords or wires to generate or process audio. These are very flexible synthesizers and they have no fixed connections or routing between those units or modules.

Since they have no fixed connections, they need to be connected by patch cords through patch pins on a patch matrix by the user to generate overall routing of both audio and control information. Modular synthesizers can be found in both analog and digital forms.

Different types of combinations are found in Modular Synthesizers

The commercial modular synthesizers, which have been developed by Moog and Buchla in 1963, are the earliest of its kind. The development of synthesizers expanded the spectrum of electronic music. And gradually with time the modular synthesizer have developed remarkably.

Modular synthesizers with various combinations are now available in the market. Different modules with the same function having different inputs and outputs on various models can be found while looking for a modular synthesizer.

It is made up of modules which are interchangeable, allowing new modules to be added with ease, as well as the customization of existing modules. It is also the most expensive and exciting synthesizers found.

Standard modules found in Modular Synthesizers

There are different modules found in modular synthesizers. Some standard modules found on almost any modular synthesizers maybe categorized as follows

VCO

Voltage controlled oscillator. VCO will play a note with a pitched sound in a simple waveform which includes pulse, triangle, sine waves, square wave or a sawtooth wave.

VCF

Voltage controlled filter. VCF filters out all sounds and frequencies above (high pass), below (low pass) or both above and below (band pass) a certain frequency.

VCA

Voltage controlled amplifier. This is the module which controls the amplitude or overall volume of the synthesizer.

LFO

Low frequency oscillator. LFO has an output of low frequency waveform and the output is usually in a sine or triangle wave and is also used as a control voltage for some other module. For instance, is can be used to modulate the frequency of a VCO.

Envelope generator

The envelope generator is most commonly used to control the amplitude or volume of the sound, by routing it to the control input of the VCA. It is even used to control the timbre of the sound, by routing it to the control input of the VCF.

Ring modulator

Two audio inputs are utilized to create an inharmonic result while suppressing the original signals.

Slew Limiter

This can be used to create a smooth glide in between notes. It also smooth off the peaks of voltages.

Basic differences between digital and analog Modular Synthesizers

There are some specific differences between digital and analog modular synthesizers, but sometimes the digital synthesizers often imitate the procedure of their analog counterpart.

Though the digital synthesizers can utilize a flexible number of instances of any standard module but has an inadequate option of steering audio and control signals. Rather in case of analog synthesizers it is a very simple process of fixing patch cords.

Know All About Electronic Music Gear

September 29, 2010 in Local Music by stagemaster

All the equipments, which are necessary for music, are called music gear. Music gear again can be of two types. Some of them are acoustic and some of them are electronic. In this article, we will talk about the electronic music gear.

Electronic music gears are the ones that work electrically. All the electronic instruments, like, electric guitars, synthesizers, octo pads are kind of electronic music gears. But they are not all. Amplifiers, microphones, tools that are used in sound studios also fall in this category.

Here is a small description of different electronic music gears:

Electric guitar

It is a very important music gear. This instrument has a pick up. Once you plug in the instrument with the amplifier, you will get a perfect sound, actually electric guitar do not have any unplugged sound like the acoustic guitar. It has got a completely different sound. It has a sound, which is metallic. But you can make an acoustic tone in an electric guitar with the help of a processor. You need the pick up and the amplifier to produce its sound.

Synthesizer

Synthesizer is a complete electronic gear. It does not have any acoustic version. You need the electricity to run this instrument. Synthesizer does not have any sound of its own. It only copies the sound of other instruments and delivers that particular sound.

Octopads

Octopads are the electrical version of drums. They are small, easy to handle and are able to change its tone. The best thing about them is that as they are small and the player does not need to take along many percussion instruments with him. Many of those effects are available in the instrument.

Amplifiers

These are very important electronic music gear, without which not a single professional music show can be staged. Amplifiers are the one, which deliver the sound of all instruments and vocal and make the sound reach to audience in every corner.

Microphones

Microphones and amplifiers are very much interrelated. Microphones are a special kind of gear that enhance the sound and tone of the vocalists and instruments. Actually, microphone captures the sound and sends that to the audience. This is almost like the amplifiers. But the amplifier cannot capture the sound directly. It comes from the microphone. It just delivers the sound.

Processor

This particular gadget is mainly used with the guitar. Processor is a box where different tones and effects are stored. If you attach it with the guitar, then the guitarist will be able to choose those tones and effects from the processor and can play it in his guitar.

Electronic music gear is very sensitive. They need to be taken care of properly. And as they are expensive, their insurance is surely needed. These gears have a complicated handling process. Before using them, one should understand all the handling properly. For this the manuals should be read.

Indeed electric gears are very interesting. By using them, you can change the whole approach of the music. If you are a music lover, then you will not be able to stop yourself from getting fond of electronic music gears.

Know More On MIDI Synthesizer

June 1, 2010 in Local Music by stagemaster

The full form of MIDI is Musical Instrument Digital Interface, this is an industry standard protocol that enables electronic musical instruments, computers and other equipment to communicate, control and synchronize with each other. A MIDI Synthesizer is an electronic musical system capable to produce or manipulate audio tones, such as musical notes, through the audio signal processing sometimes referred to as audio processing. It is the processing of a representation of auditory signals or sound. And here the representation is digital.

MIDI Synthesizers have developed over the years with the enhancement of technology. There are many other synthesizers based on the technology they use to duplicate musical instruments. The most common synthesizers in recent days are the sampling synthesizer. With digital audio, sounds can be broken down into numbers and then they are used to reconstruct the original sound. A sequencer is used to change the MIDI data before sending it to the synthesizer. A digital audio editing software enables the digital audio numbers to be altered so that the sound you play back is different from the sound recorded. Whereas, Sampling synthesizers use the features of digital audio editing software to record samples only to manipulate and play them back.

MIDI synthesizers are the ones that play music in response to the MIDI data. You can also save the present settings by sending them as MIDI data to a sequencer for future use. How does it function? The MIDI messages a fed into the synthesizer and musical notes are generated. To hear these sounds you need a set of amplifiers and speakers attached to the synthesizer. You should keep in mind that you should follow one type of signal at a time. The sound generated by your MIDI synthesizer is an audio data just like the ones your home stereo system produces.

For composing music using a MIDI synthesizer you need a MIDI controller and a sequencer, because nothing can function in the absence of the other. These three components are found in a single device. Most MIDI keyboards are actually keyboards and synthesizers. There are many other devices that are to be associated with the MIDI synthesizer to complete the system, which includes the combination of hardware sequencer and synthesizer with no keyboard or other kind of MIDI control device.

All modern MIDI synthesizers are capable of polyphony, which means they can play more than one note at a time and more than one instrument at a time. It uses channels to execute polyphony. The Note On, Note Off and Program Change messages each contains a 4-bit code that indicates the MIDI channel. The channels are usually numbered 1 through 16 and each of them is associated with a particular instrument.

MIDI synthesizers are widely used systems today, and it has made music recording much simpler and faster. In recent version of Windows, you will find a software-based MIDI synthesizer called Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth. It uses instrument sounds from the Roland Sound Canvas, and it may be superior to the hardware synthesizer on your sound card.

All you want to know about Programmable synthesizers

March 11, 2010 in Local Music by stagemaster

A programmable music synthesizer has a keyboard which also generates an expression signal representing the pressure on the keyboard and utilizes the change in an infrared path length for producing this expression signal.

Synthesizers work by manipulating electrical signals which appear as sound when they are used to drive audio amplifiers. These tones are generated by electrical circuits which may work by manipulating a signal through a series of oscillators and filters in an analog circuits in analog synthesizers. They may also perform mathematical manipulation of signals using a microprocessor and digital signal processing in digital synthesizers, or by a combination of both methods.

Synthesized sounds may sound dramatically different than recordings of natural sounds, though sampling synthesizers significantly blur this distinction.

Sound basics

All sounds are comprised of some combination of pure sine waves. Generally, a single sound will include a fundamental frequency, and any number of overtones. The frequencies of these overtones are either integer multiples of the fundamental frequency, or integer fractions thereof subharmonics.

When natural tonal instruments sounds are analyzed in the frequency domain, the spectra of their sounds will exhibit amplitude spikes at each of the fundamental tone harmonics. Some harmonics may have higher amplitudes than others. The specific set of harmonic versus amplitude pairs is known as a sound’s harmonic content.

Well known Brands of Programmable synthesizers

A vast range of programmable synthesizers are available in the market. All the famous brands have come out with their latest synthesizers. In this article we will be discussing three of the most famous and widely used programmable synthesizers.

All You Need To Know About Synthesizers

March 7, 2010 in Local Music by stagemaster

Synthesizers are sound modifying and reproducing units. They can be either installed on a computer system or be physical like the classical synthesizers produced by Yamaha. Synthesizers help in modifying music to make it better, reproduce voice or analyze and come up with a completely different thing all together from the original.

There are 2 basic kinds of synthesizers: analog and digital. Many synthesis methods however exist which apply to both the above types of synthesizers. All these methods tend to be mathematically related for example, frequency modulation and phase modulation.
Some of these types are Subtractive synthesis, Additive synthesis, granular synthesis and wavetable synthesis.

The first true electronic musical synthesizer was invented by Relish Gray in 1876. While working at his telephone invention, Gray discovered that he could control sound from a self vibrating electromagnetic circuit and in doing so invented a basic single note oscillator. After this, synthesizers were controlled by early electronic analog computers and old electronic musical instruments. In 1950, RCA produced experimental devices to synthesize both voice and music. The giant Mark II Music Synthesizer could however synthesize only when it was programmed for a musical or voice performance.

Most modern synthesizers are however digital in nature. They are controlled by what is known as a digital signal processor or DSP. Some digital synthesizers are software that can modify sound using our daily computer machines.

The earliest digital synthesis was performed by software installed on huge main frame computers. Today, various complicated software exist that use the DSP technique to give you a taste of the real thing. They can even reproduce the classical analog synthesizers.

So how are synthesizers used? Well, in many ways. As modern technology evolved, uses have been found for synthesizers. Today synthesis is used to produce high quality music, movies and even voice packages. Groups as early as the Beatles used synthesis techniques in their work. They were followed by the hugely popular Pink Floyd.

Synthesizers are today used also to produce human simulated speech for call centers and multinational companies. People with visual impairments use this technology through a text to speech software that gives them access to modern computers making them independent. Dictation software like the Dragon naturally speaking also uses speech synthesis.

So how do synthesizers reproduce human voice? Voice synthesis is a fascinating topic. A recorded sample of a human voice can be modified so that it is completely different from the original. The sample can be used to generate codes that can be fed into a computer system to give it a voice. In movies, voice modification is done through digital synthesizers to give new and astounding speech to sci fi characters.

Synthesizers are a part of us today. They help us in every aspect of our lives. Starting from your washing machine to the latest robotics every one uses some form of synthesis with the help of digital synthesizing software. Musical instruments can be reproduced on your personal computer allowing you to become the next great artist without even learning to play. They can simulate and reproduce human voice allowing for great software like screen readers, speech recognition and other new and amazing packages.

Know All About Synthesizers

March 5, 2010 in Local Music by stagemaster

Synthesizer is an instrument that helps to create and play different kinds of sounds. They require external sound boxes. This instrument has different kinds of models. The models vary on the basis of the functions, facilities, size etc.

There are three main types of synthesizers, analogue, digital and software. In the analogue form, continuous voltages in different proportions model sound wave. Whereas in a digital synthesizer various separate information units are used. A software synthesizer makes use of various software to mix sounds.

By assimilating these three types, a new kind of synthesizer is made, which is called hybrid synthesizer.

There are different methods of synthesis.

- Subtractive synthesis

- Granular synthesis

- Physical modeling synthesis

- Frequency modulation synthesis

- Phase distortion synthesis

- Additive synthesis

- Sample based synthesis

- Sub harmonic synthesis

Elisha Gray invented the first electronic synthesizer in the year 1876. After this a lot more experiments occurred with the synthesizer and hence different kinds of synthesizers were invented.

Microtonal Electronic keyboard was made by Ivor Darreg in 1937, ANS synthesizer by Russian scientist Evgeny Murzin. Only one ANS was made. Presently it is preserved at the Lomonosov university of Moscow.

In the 1960s, development of synthesizers took place. But they were so big in size that they had to be kept inside the studios only.

Today synthesizers have become digital. They are lot more advanced than the previous ones. Now it is possible to arrange a whole song in synthesizer. You don’t need any acoustic instruments. Synthesizers will provide you all these acoustic effects. You can also have different sound effect like, the sound of a moving train, people talking, sound of applauses etc.

You can even record or create new sound effects. Synthesizer is becoming popular in the music industry. Synthesized music is slowly emerging. Even films are using synthesized songs. The first song to be fully synthesized was from the James bond flick, ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’, in 1969.

After this film, using synthesized music became a trend for films. In the year 1982, John Carpenter made a film called ‘The Thing’, which had all synthesized songs.

Modern synthesizers give you many other facilities also. You can play and can record what you have just played instantly. How? Simple. Record it in a floppy or C.D. It has got the floppy and c.d. drive.

Modern synthesizers have a huge option of sound balancing too. You can balance your sound on your own and can settle down with the kind of sound you want.

As it is capable of delivering various sound effects, you can easily get the instrument you want. Like you want to play saxophone. But you don’t know how to play saxophone. With a synthesizer around you don’t even need to know. Just switch on the synthesizer, chose the saxophone option and go on playing saxophone in the synthesizer rid.

Sounds interesting, right? If you seriously want to be musically versatile, then this is the right choice for you. But remember, good quality synthesizers are a bit expensive. But nothing can beat the love and passion for great music.
