Super-producer Stir Crazy has stamped his imprint on the music scene since 2003. His production has helped create career defining hits for artists such as Potluck, D12, Bizzy Bone, Toxsick, Kamal, Tre LB, SOL, T.O.N.Ez, The Insane Clown Posse and many others. Respected beyond the genres of hip hop and urban music, Stir Crazy, has also been sought by superstars and underground legends whose music needs a new edge.

Born Jesse Elliott in Detroit, Michigan on December 23, 1986, Stir Crazy has had many reincarnations– from a partnership in the label Super Phat Productions, and involved in a super group which consists of Dood Computer (of Doom Fist) and Himself.

Chop Shops smash hit single ‘Heart”, and Kamal’s debut cd Certified produced by Stir Crazy, introduced a unique style that defined the new wave of music in the years too come. Hip Hop and R&B with crazy effects held together by complex drum patterns. Death B4 Dishoner a group consiting of Lokey, T.O.N.Ez and Stir Crazy proved Stir Crazy could step out his normal boundrys and do heavy metal and rock production.

Recently he has helped form and in a music group with Dood Computer from Albany, New York and about to release there new upcoming album. The reason this album is getting so much attention is because of the marketing. It is coming out on cassette tape only.

Stir Crazys sound is unexplainable, and meant to be listened to, not read….

His partnership with fellow producer Tre LB, has spanned the untouchable label Super Phat Productions, and there trademark sound has spawned numerous imitators in the Detroit area. Still known as the originators of the new wave of Detroit sound when it comes to hip hop and R&B music.

Along the way he built a impressive arsenal of studio equipment, and worked/works at many studios in Detroit where he does most of his production. He regularly travels between his home studio and other studios around the area and other states working on many projects.

Stir Crazy’s genre breaking has changed music today and he takes pride in his success at staying ahead of the game with his experimentation and originality. Hard working and confident, his goal is to always stay ten steps ahead of the competitors while making fans not only hear but ‘feel’ music.

One thing Stir Crazy has on his side, other than incredible talent, is visibility. He has been featured on numerous websites as well as print.. He has been seen on several DVD’s, and he has a role ina feature film, Zombie Prom.. Then there are his numerous other appearances and accomplishments. He was named producer of the year by Juggalo News by voting of fans. The acknowledgment came as a surprise, he got a message that he was going to be featured, and there he was, without having to submit anything about himself. The word is out!

“You can accomplish any dream or goals in life, with hard work and confidence” says the dedicated Stir Crazy. Innovator of sound which continues to set new standards, while always expanding his musical palette.

I Tried Jewish Dating Washington DC and had a Great Time

I moved to Northern Virginia two years ago and a co-worker, who is also single, suggested we go to a Jewish Dating Washington DC event hosted by Professionals in the City. Boy was I wrong!

Long a staple of the British music industry, the BRIT awards has received its fair share of praise and controversy. Music Producers Don’t Get Enough Credit!

You may ask “What Does A Music Producer Do?”. It’s not a simple, cut and dry question. When I use the term, I’m referring to a role that sometimes is filled by two people, a producer and an engineer. Oftentimes, the term “producer” will be used to describe a person who did very little work.

GENERAL MUSIC INDUSTRY: Jambase Questionnaire: Charlie Hunter
Welcome back to JamBase’s baker’s dozen to the bright lights of the music world. Last time we heard from Soulive. Solo guitar performance is one of the oldest, grandest traditions in the blues and jazz fields. It’s a brave, exposed display of talent that works as an intimate conversation between the musician and listeners. It’s been 10 years since Charlie Hunter stripped down to his 7 and 8 …

The Day the Music Died. Free the Music Industry from Greed!

October 8, 2010 in Local Music by stagemaster

Music Industry Greed. Simple. Oh, what? You want me to now write an essay after a nearly 8 minute rant? Fine. Music should be free. Yes, I said it. Music should be free. Performance should be paid for, but the music itself… should be free. Now before you say, NorCalCorsello, what the heck are you talking about? Perhaps you should just watch the video. because I didnt get to this point right away in the video… by Chris Corsello. (Sorry, gotta get my search engine keyword in there.) Some of the topics I managed to work in to this essay on the music industry were Metallica, Napster, piracy, greed, Mtv Cribs, CD Pricing Class Action Lawsuit and the Warner Music Group. The title The Day the Music Died was inspired by a lyric from a song by Don McLean, American Pie. For Don McLean it was February 3, 1959… as he explained in 1972. Now Id like to take this opportunity to say, go check out some music that is on YOUR local music scene. Buy the bands CD while youre there. It will really help out a working musician… rather than fueling the greed of the mainstream record industry. The Day the Music Died. Free the Music Industry from Greed! Preparing For Jobs In The Music Industry

September 2, 2010 in Local Music by stagemaster

music jobs, music jobs uk, music industry jobs, classical music jobs, church music jobs

The music industry is undoubtedly one of the ‘sexiest’ fields in which to work, according to a recent survey by the editors of Time magazine. There are music industry jobs that require nearly any skill set that you can bring to the job, and the training required varies with each of the music industry jobs that may interest you. Here are some general guidelines for finding work in music industry jobs.

Love Music.

It’s not a prerequisite for music industry jobs, but loving music of any kind is a definite step in the right direction. While loving music may not be important in a record company accountant’s position, it’s practically required for anyone who works with artists or in promotion.

Check the qualifications for the job.

In general, most jobs in the music industry require at least a two year college degree – with the exception of performers who can get by without a degree if they have talent. Expect that the more involved the job, the higher your level of education and/or experience will need to be. A record promoter may need to demonstrate networking skills or developed contacts in the local music scene, for instance, and a contracts lawyer will obviously require a law degree. Music teachers working for the schools will need to have a teaching license as well as the demonstrated ability to play an instrument.

The best training is on the job training.

For positions like band manager, road work, publicists and promoters, the best training is through an internship or through your own work promoting and/or managing a band on your own. Some publicists and promoters come to the job from their own fanzines, or have developed a network of contacts in radio and advertising through their college or teen year extracurricular activities.

A degree in music is respected in many music industry jobs.

Colleges that specialize in music education like the Berklee School for the Performing Arts offer training in many different aspects of the music industry. You can study music and performance law, accounting for the music industry, and business management for music companies as well as composition, performance and other music-specific jobs.

Join the band.

One of the best training grounds for a career in orchestral music is your school or college band. If you’re already beyond the school years, take advantage of county and city music societies to both train your ear and keep in the practice of playing with others.

Music ministry jobs often require special certifications.

If you have a calling to a job in music ministry, you’ll find that many churches and synagogues require that their full time music minister have pastoral training as well as musical training. The American Guild of Organists and the National Council of Pastoral Musicians offer professional certifications at a number of levels.

Music therapists require a bachelor’s degree in music therapy from one of the approved universities that teach music therapy.

In addition to regular studies, the bachelors in music therapy requires 1200 hours of clinical practice.

The requirements for training for music industry jobs are varied, but this is a brief overview of the training required for some of the major careers in the music industry.

Attention Music Lovers: Discover A Little Known Business You Can Start In The Music Industry That Will Put Hundreds Of Dollars In Your Pocket Weekly

August 18, 2010 in Local Music by stagemaster

Let’s face it. The music industry has been deteriorating lately. With pirated songs online, and the economy in ruins, people just aren’t forking over their money to buy CD’s. But there is one section of the music industry that has been silently humming along, despite the economy (and their CD sales are still going strong). That section is the local music industry.

Local bands are still enjoying a steady stream of new work and many sell their own CD’s at the clubs they play around town. Not surprisingly, in order to get gigs and to increase their revenue, these bands need to make demo tapes and CD’s for their fans. To do this, they need a recording studio.

Now, most people don’t have a recording studio in their home. And that’s where you come in. If you have a spare section of your garage, or perhaps a spare bedroom, you can literally create a home studio of your own, one that could be generating cash for you in as little as 30 days.

With the many bands and aspiring musicians in every local town in the country, it makes sense that this would be an area that is thriving – and it is. Smart entrepreneurs have tapped into this lucrative market and are quietly raking in the dough every week.

There are lots of benefits to this type of business. The first is that you are targeting a hungry crowd. It’s similar to when the gold rush happened in California. The miners looking for the gold weren’t the ones who got rich. It was the business owners who supplied them with the tools they needed to mine that became extremely wealthy.

The music industry is its own pot of gold. There are always new bands forming and aspiring musicians are everywhere. Also, a majority of the bands will split up and then form another band with new members. It’s literally a revolving door of potential customers, no matter how small your town.

Another benefit to this type of business is that it can be started on a shoestring and up and running very quickly. If you started from scratch with no previous equipment, you could have everything you need for under $500. With just this basic equipment, you could have your first client within 3 days.

You can also do it on a part time basis while still holding down a regular job. As your income grows, you can decide when you want to ditch your job and go full time. You can easily make between $150-$950/day, so it probably won’t take long before you decide to say goodbye to your boss. The typical recording studio can easily pull in $250,000/year.

Contrary to popular belief, the technical requirements for owning a studio are very simple. You can learn everything you need to know in under 3 hours and even novices can command high prices for their studio. Then of course there are the bonuses. You get to hang out with bands all day and become a ‘rock star’ in your own right. It’s a pretty cool way to make a living, isn’t it?

Home recording studio owners have been quietly raking in the cash for years. It’s one of the most stable, and lucrative businesses in the music industry, not to mention one of the most enjoyable.

Provided you get a little guidance on the set up, your home recording studio business should be up and running – and thriving – in no time.

I have spent my life helping people. For the last 15 years I have been working with the hearing
