Band gets “No Credit” recording at Music Store

DIY band Georgia Wonder’s new single and video ‘No Credit’ is released, recorded entirely in-store at Nevada Music, Portsmouth.

Indie duo Georgia Wonder‘s new album project ‘Made in Nevada’ kicked off this week with the release of ‘No Credit’, the first single and video from the project. ‘Made In Nevada’ is the working title of the band’s attempt to record their latest album entirely in-store at their local music shop.

“One of the main hurdles bands have is financing their recordings” said Stephanie Grant, vocalist in the band. “By recording our latest album at our local music store we’ve answered our own recording, sponsorship and promotional needs in one go.”

The album will be a rolling release, each track being available to purchase the moment it is completed from the band’s Bandcamp page. “We’re releasing as we go until the end of the project” said Julian Moore, musician in the band. “This is in keeping with the spirit of the project and allows fans to see a continuous work in progress.”

Georgia Wonder is Stephanie Grant (vocals) and Julian Moore (music). In 2008, their debut EP ‘Hello Stranger’ and song ‘Girl You Never Knew’ received plaudits from Record Of The Day and Pop Justice who called it ‘one Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack appearance away from being an international hit single.

Opening for Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall on his ’08 UK tour, and later appeared at the historic election night gig at the London American Embassy alongside Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze.

Originally picked up by legendary BBC presenter ‘whispering’ Bob Harris who played their demos for two concurrent weeks on his BBC Radio 2 show.
